Croatian Highlights

 

Croatia is a beloved port of call for cruise-goers, but it’s one of Europe’s most countries, full of hidden gems, stunning natural scenery, and of course, a rich heritage. This itinerary combines beautiful national parks, strolls around cities dating back to antiquity, breezy beach days, and sumptuous Mediterranean cuisine.

Day 1 - Arrive in Zagreb 

 

You will be met at the airport and privately transferred to your hotel. We suggest giving yourself an extra day in this historic town. Dating back 1000 years, Zagreb is renowned for its lively street entertainment. From fantastic buskers to live dance performances, the scenes here are exciting. Shop chic boutiques and galleries, and keep your eyes peeled for artisan stalls selling beautiful handcrafted Croatian works. 

 

Day 2 - Zagreb 

 

After a good night’s sleep and a delicious breakfast, your driver and guide will pick you up and take you on a whirlwind tour of Zagreb, but not without an essential stop; coffee time. Your guide will take you to the oldest coffee shop in Zagreb, overlooking the statue of Ban Jelacic in the main square. Carry on to explore historic sites, quaint alleyways, and learn all about the legends of witchcraft, evil queens, and various other legends. End the evening with a traditional Croatian dinner with recipes dating back to the 16th century. 

Day 3 - Park Plitvice Lake & Split 

 

At the halfway point, between Zagreb and Split is where you’ll be stopping today. National Park Plitvice Lake is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Its 16 interconnected lakes, 90 tumbling waterfalls, and its lush surrounding forests make you feel like you’re stepping into a painting. After some free time to explore this resplendent place, you’ll make your way to Split. 

 

Day 4 - Split & Trogir 

 

Today you’re about to get your fill of World Heritage Sites. First, you’ll take a deep dive into Croatia’s second-biggest city and what is affectionately referred to as ‘the most beautiful city in the world.’ Your guide will take you on a morning tour of split and include a visit to your first World Heritage Site, the Diocletian Palace. Next up,  you’ll make your way to Trogir, also known as the ‘city museum.’ Trogir is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you’ll want to wear your comfiest walking shoes and pack your camera, because not only will you love wandering this site, you’ll enjoy strolling the 2300-year-old streets. The Mediterranean-style layout of this town makes this fascinating city fun to explore. 

 

Day 5 - Island Hopping & Hvar 

 

After a relaxing, unhurried morning in Split, head out on a private boat charter for a scenic ride to Hvar, the sunniest of the Croatian islands. Hvar is almost too beautiful for words. Float across the nearly transparent waters, and admire the various superyachts that surround this architectural Eden. Step onshore for an afternoon of heritage and Mediterranean culture. A blend of Austrian, Venetian, and Dalmatian influence, Hvar is full of ancient ruins, abandoned villages, and secluded coves to explore. 

 

Day 6 - Mali Ston & Dubrovnik 

 

After breakfast, you’ll leave Split and make way for Mali Ston, a place popular for fresh oysters, and an impressive 3.5-mile fortress wall. Oyster harvesting here goes back to the Roman era, and even then, they were thought to be an aphrodisiac. Hop on a quick ride out to the ancient oyster beds, and enjoy a tasting accompanied by crisp Dalmatian wine. After lunch, you’re off to Dubrovnik for the night. 

 

Day 7 - Dubrovnik 

 

After breakfast, head out into this medieval, Game of Thrones-inspired city. Your private guide will take you on a walking tour of Old Town, and Stradun the most famous street in Dubrovnik. You’ll also visit Rector’s Palace and of course, spend some time on the City Walls, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, overlooking the Adriatic. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. 

 

Day 8 -  Home 

 

After your final breakfast here in Croatia, your driver will pick you up, and take you to the airport to catch your flight home.  

 

Costa Rican Adventure

 

If you’re looking for a group trip that combines adventure, culture, and wildlife, this Costa Rican’ itinerary is going to be right up your alley. Wander through lush cloud forests, trek across hanging bridges, test your skills (and nerves) with some white water rafting excursion and visit local coffee plantations to learn about one of Costa Rica’s most beloved exports.

Day 1 - Arrive San Jose 

 

You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in San Jose. Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring San Jose, or relaxing at your hotel, preparing for the adventure ahead. Meet up with your fellow travelers this evening for an orientation.

 

Day 2 - La Fortuna 

 

You have a free day to explore the gateway to Arenal Volcano National Park. Kick your adventure off with a canyoneering excursion. You’ll visit a Coffee Cooperative’ and learn about the harvesting, husking, drying, and roasting process. Finish off this visit with a delicious cup of Costa Rican coffee. 

Day 3 - La Fortuna 

 

The day is yours to choose from any number of optional excursions. Go on a 3km trek, set against the backdrop of the Arenal Volcanoes, across 16 different hanging bridges, up and down winding trails, past spectacular waterfalls all the while, spotting monkeys, tropical birds, and various other species. 

Day 4 - Monteverde 

 

Today you depart La Fortuna, travel through the mountains, arriving at the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Tonight you’ll take an eye-opening night tour in the cloud forest. A naturalist guide will walk you through a 1.5-2 hour tour through the forest after dark and point out Costa Rica’s famous nocturnal birds, reptiles, mammals, and amphibians. 

 

Day 5 - Monteverde 

 

Experience Monteverde in all of its natural beauty by opting for any number of fantastic excursion options. Soar through the canopy on a zipline adventure. Or throw on your rain boots and poncho and go on a guided tour of the Santa Elena Cloud Forest. And for those comfortable on horseback, why not take a breathtaking ride through the verdant wilderness. 

 

Day 6 - Quepos 

 

It’s time to head to the warm, azure waters of the Pacific Coast. You arrive in Quepos today and you can opt to explore the town itself or visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Enjoy a wildlife safari, take in the awe-inspiring views, and lounge on the white sandy beaches. 

 

Day 7 - Quepos 

 

Spend your day at leisure, but we suggest you pre-book the Manuel Antonio Catamaran Tour ahead of time. This tour will take you along the Pacific Coast, with views of the jungle. Watch out for curious dolphins popping to the surface to say hello, and get your toes wet on a snorkel expedition. This catamaran is equipped with waterslides for more fun. 

 

Day 8 - San Jose 

 

Enjoy your morning soaking up a few more rays in Quepos before you head back to San Jose this afternoon. 

 

Day 9 - Home  

 

Your pre-arranged transfer will gather you from your hotel and take you to the airport so you can catch your flights home.

Day 1 - Arrive in Paris 

 

You will be met at the airport and transferred privately to your hotel in Paris. 

 

Day 2 - Museums & City Stroll 

 

The day is yours to explore this magnificent city. We’ve included a two-day museum pass with skip-the-line privileges. With over 50 fantastic museums to choose from, you’ll want to plan out your days accordingly. Musée du Louvre, Crypte archéologique du Parvis de Notre-Dame and Cite des Sciences et de l`Industrie are just a few you may want to throw on your list. Be sure to seek out a patisserie for a sweet treat and take a breath at a cafe along the way to people-watch, and suspend time, if only for a moment. 

Day 3 - Museums & Historic Sites 

 

After a sumptuous Parisian or American breakfast, head out for your second day of museum exploration. Perhaps today you’ll want to check out the Chapelle expiatoire, a commemorative monument, and chapel where King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette were buried after they had been guillotined on Place de la Révolution. The Cinémathèque Française is another great option. Housing some 40,000 films and paraphernalia related to film, it’s a fascinating stop on your self-guided museum tour. 

 

Day 4 - St. Germain Walking Tour 

 

Enjoy this in-depth walking tour of historic Saint-Germain-des-Pres, the  6th Arrondissement of Paris, and best known for its literary geniuses, artists, and intellectuals. Pablo Picasso, George Hemingway, and Benjamin Franklin have all once called this district home. Pause your tour by enjoying a luxurious Champagne tasting, accompanied by paired dishes. 

 

Day 5 - Eiffel Tower 

 

Today, enjoy Paris from a bird’s eye view from the most recognizable tower in Europe. With your skim-the-line, priority access pass, you will be accompanied by a host. You will spend the next hour learning more about Parisian culture, history, and traditions. At the summit, you’ll view Gustave Eiffel’s private quarters. While you’re there, consider a glass of champagne at the onsite bar, and toast to your Paris adventure. 

 

Day 6 - Versailles & Giverny Day Trip 

 

No visit to Paris is complete without a day trip to the Palace of Versailles and Monet’s garden at Giverny. This full-day, escorted tour takes you through the grandeur that is Versailles. The King’s apartments, the famous Hall of Mirrors, the stunning gardens, and Marie Antoinette’s private estate. After Versailles, you’re off to the region of Normandy to visit Giverny, the beloved home of Claude Monet, and often, a muse for his immortal works. 

 

Day 7 - Paris 

 

Spend your day at leisure. Tonight, you’ll step on board your Bateaux Parisiens Seine River Dinner Cruise. Paris by day is stunning, but Paris by night is breathtaking. Your luxurious riverboat will take you past the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and of course, Notre Dame Cathedral. Dine on a lavish 3-course meal, sip Champagne and enjoy a live music performance while on board. The perfect way to bid Paris farewell.

Day 1 - Depart Barcelona, Spain 

We suggest flying at least one or two days early to spend some time in the Catalonian capital of Barcelona. Home to the whimsical Sagrada Familia, the stunning Gothic District, Las Ramblas, and myriad historic neighborhoods. Embark on your luxurious Mediterranean cruise and set sail at 6:00 pm


Day 2 - Toulon, France 

Perched on the Mediterranean coast, this charming seaside village is only 40 miles southeast of Marseilles. A port city dating back to Roman times, there are plenty of activities for your group to partake in. Head to Téléphérique du Mont Faron a mile from the city and take one of the only coastal cable cars in Europe up to the top for unparalleled views. 

Day 3 - Marina di Carrara, Italy 

 

Welcome to Tuscany. Pop off the ship to wander through this modern seaside town, with its sprawling beaches, laid-back vibe, and mountainous backdrop. It’s worth taking a shuttle to the nearby towns of Massa and Carrara. There are a number of historic sites to explore. Steal a quiet moment in the Cathedral of Massa, enjoy an Espresso in the Piazza degli Aranci and marvel at the Tower and the arch of Castruccio Castracani.

 

Day 4 - Ajaccio, France

One of the many incredible things about cruising is being able to see parts of a country that you likely wouldn’t see on a land tour. The small town of Ajaccio is the birthplace of none other than Napoleon Bonaparte. The stunning bay on which the pastel-colored buildings of this resort-like town make it a favorite port of call for historians, art collectors, cafe lovers, and photographers. 

 

Day 5 - Cagliari, Itay 

 

Cruises guests won’t be disappointed by Sardinia’s historic capital. Greeted with vibrant hues of reds, yellows, oranges, and what seems like every other color in the rainbow. Caliari is often thought to be the most Italian of Sardinia’s cities and towns. The architecture is a blend of Art Nouveau, Italian Renaissance, Baroque and more. Throw on your walking shoes, and prepare for a full day of Sardinian immersion. 

 

Day 6 -7 - Ibiza, Spain 

 

This fun-filled, sun-soaked, DJ spinning capital of the world invites you and your group to have the time of their lives. You’re in port for two whole days, which gives you all plenty of time to bar-hop, dance ‘til dawn, and maybe even do some exploring off the beaten path to see what hidden treasures this rhythmic little island has to offer. 

 

Day 8 - Barcelona 

 

The party winds down as you pull into port. Your transfer will scoop you all from the port and take you to your hotel for the night before heading home tomorrow. Or, if you don’t want the fun to end, opt to extend your time in Barcelona.
